The crew of The "Liberty" enjoys wireless high
speed internet throughout the tug even while underway. The back bone
of the system is an old Toshiba Tecra 8000 laptop fitted with a Sprint PCS
Card and using Microsoft Windows XP internet connection sharing.
Attached to the laptop via a Linksys USB Ethernet connection is a Linksys
Wap54g Wireless Access Point. The connection is secured by using MAC
Address Filtering. This system has served us well for over three years
